How do I get to the forum?
- To get into the forum, simply click on the Forum link at the top of the page...
The forum will open up in another browser window or tab, so you may need to allow pop-ups from our site.
How do I register on the forum?
- To register on the forum, click on 'Join Here' at the top right hand corner of the window...
- And fill out the form in full...
- Once you've filled in all the boxes, press Register at the bottom of the window...
- You will now be able to login and use the forum with the details you just supplied...
- You will also receive a confirmation email welcoming you to the forums.
Please use a valid email address as we use this to validate your registration. If your address is found to be invalid, your registration may be deleted.
After I've registered, how do I login again?
- Anyone may view the forums, however to post new messages or reply to others, you must first login. To login click on Login at the top right hand corner of the window...
- Enter your details and press LOGIN...
- You can click the tick box to enable your username and password to be saved on your computer so that you do not need to type it in each time you visit.
- If you have forgotten your login details, you can enter your email address in the lower box, hit Send and your password will be emailed to you.
Please note however that this does not work with all browsers and you should only use this feature on a private computer and not on computers such as those in internet cafés as others could login using your details!
How do I read a conversation (or thread)?
- To read a thread, simply click on the subject...
- To read older threads, click on Forums at the top right hand corner of the window...
- You will see a list of categories with descriptions and other information. Click on each Forum name to see a list of threads within that category...
- And click on each thread subject to read the conversation within.
The first page you see is the 10 most recent threads. To read other threads read on...
How do I create a new thread (or conversation/topic)?
- To start a new thread, first you must login using the details you created when you registered. Once logged in, click on Forums at the top right hand corner of the window...
- You will see a list of threads already within that category. Click on Add [+]...
- You will now see a screen into which you can type your new thread...
- The Forum box should already be filled in.
- If you want a smiley icon next to the subject of your thread, select one.
- Type in the subject of your thread.
- Type the message text of your new thread. You can use the buttons above this box to format your message (some are similar to using popular word processor packages and these are explained in more detail later in this FAQ).
- Tick if you want to display your Signature under your message (this is explained in more detail later in this FAQ).
- Tick if you want to be notified by email when your thread is replied to.
- Once you have finished making your new thread, click on Create Topic...
- You will then be taken back to the relevant forum and you will see your newly created thread at the top.
You will see a list of categories with descriptions and other information. Click on the forum into which the subject of your new thread will most likely fit.
